How to tell if a guy likes you by his body language
Determining how to tell if a guy likes you can be difficult. There are few things more frustrating than having to wonder if the guy you really like is interested in you. Does he like you or is he just being friendly? Does he think of you like you think of him? There are always so many questions when you fall in love or are simply attracted to someone. Fortunately, there are a number of ways to tell if a guy likes you, and most of them are simply based on body language.
When guys are attracted to someone, they give off a series of physical signals. Some of them are intentional, but most are completely subconscious. This means that you can often tell whether or not a guy like you is before he knows it himself, and the more a guy likes you, the more obvious these signs will be.
How to tell if a guy likes you based on body language
The following is a list of subtle and not-so-subtle signs that guys show when they are around someone they care about. Each of these signals expresses interest, nervousness, or attraction. Some express all three. Alone, they mean little. So if you notice just one or two of these traits, you shouldn’t take it as a sure sign that the guy you’re thinking of is interested in you. However, if you notice that he frequently displays some of these traits when he is with you or with you, it is very likely that he really likes you. If you continually notice these traits in a guy you like, you may want to show a little more interest in him. Guys are often more confused by us than they are by them.
Body language signs that he likes you
He smiles when he sees you. Like girls, guys can’t always help but smile when they see the person they like. If he seems to light up when you walk into the room, he might be interested in you. There’s always the chance that a friendly smile just means that he likes you as a friend, but it usually means something.
He confronts you. People instinctively turn to things that interest them. Whether they are sitting together and talking or on opposite sides of the room, watch her face her body. If he seems to always be in front of you, or leans his body towards you even when his back is turned, it is very likely that he is interested in you.
Looks at you often. When a guy likes you, he will look to you both consciously and unconsciously to gauge your reaction to things. They will also be more likely to make eye contact with you when they talk to you. Sometimes though it’s hard to tell if a guy is looking at you because he’s interested in you, simply because you’re in his line of sight. One way to tell is to notice what he does when you catch him staring at you. If he smiles or looks away quickly, you can almost bet he was looking at you.
His pupils are dilated. This one is usually difficult to see, as you really need to be close to it to notice it. However, if you are sitting or standing close together, notice if your pupils appear to be larger than normal. While some guys naturally have larger or smaller pupils, most will show some difference when looking at someone they are attracted to.
It seems nervous. Do you know that eerie feeling of nervousness you get when you talk or are you just around the guy you like? Most likely, he feels it too. Guys are just as likely to be nervous around a girl they like as we are to be nervous around them. Some tell-tale signs of nervousness are fidgeting, looking around nervously, and sweaty palms. While you won’t always be able to do this when a guy’s palms are sweating, you may notice him unconsciously rubbing his palms on the side of his pants to dry them.
It imitates you. When we like someone, we unconsciously tend to imitate him. We will alter our bodies to reflect that of the person we like. If you notice that the boy likes to frequently position his body to reflect yours, it may be because he is interested in you. This is especially useful in group situations when someone else is speaking. To check if a guy is paying attention to you, try crossing your arms or touching your face. If he does too, he’s probably paying more attention to you than you know.
It seems to exaggerate the small gestures. When we want to get attention, we instinctively do little things in an exaggerated way. If you notice that he seems to make a show of small gestures like adjusting his hat, straightening his neck, or any other insignificant detail, it could be because he is unconsciously trying to get your attention.
Touch her hair. Both boys and girls instinctively touch their hair or clothes when they are around such a person. It is due to the subconscious thought of looking attractive and is often called grooming. While this could simply be a sign of vanity, it can also mean that he likes you and wants to look good so that you will like him too.
He touches his face a lot when he’s around you. If you are talking to a guy and you notice that he touches his face frequently, it could mean that he is attracted to you. Attraction tends to heighten our senses, most notably the sense of touch. This causes us to instinctively touch each other’s faces.
Your turn. When a guy really likes you, he will go out of his way to touch you. This can be as innocent as brushing your fingers when handing something to yourself or as obvious as touching your arm while talking to yourself. While some people just have a natural inclination to touch others frequently, most people will only touch you if they are very comfortable with or very attracted to you. If he seems to go out of his way to touch you, especially when you’re alone, he almost certainly likes you.
It’s not always easy to tell if a guy likes you or not, but these signs and signals can give you a good starting point. If a guy you like frequently shows three or more of these signs with you, chances are he likes you.
