Role of a teacher in the lives of students

teachers as heroes

A role model is a person who fills us with the drive or ability to feel or do something, especially something creative and motivates us to try very hard to do something or make something happen, live to our fullest potential and see the best in ourselves. ourselves. A role model is someone we look up to and someone we want to be. We learn through them, through their striving to excel and through their ability to make us realize our own personal growth. We look to them for advice and guidance.

A role model can be anyone: a parent, a sibling, a friend, but some of our most influential and life-changing role models are teachers whom we look up to and whose behavior we try to emulate.

“When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” – Marlene Canter, My Teacher My Hero

Teachers follow students through each crucial stage of development. Six to eight hours a day, five days a week, you as a teacher are ready and prepared to become one of the most significant people in your student’s life. After their parents, they will learn from you, their primary school teacher. Then, as a middle school teacher, you will guide students through another important transition: the process or state of growth to maturity. As children grow into young adults, learning through middle school and high school, you’ll answer their questions, listen to their problems, and teach them about this new chapter in their lives. Not only do you see your students grow, you also help them grow.

“We think of the hero-teachers who taught us academics, but we don’t often think of those teachers who taught us the lessons of life.” – Maria Wale, My Teacher My Hero

Much of what students learn from their best teachers is not spelled out in a syllabus. Teachers who help us grow as people are responsible for making known some important life lessons. During their first years at school, students come face to face, perhaps for the first time, with other children their own age and begin to make their first friendships. As a teacher, you will show them how to be independent and form their own relationships. He will carefully guide you and intervene when necessary. School is as much a part of social learning as it is of academic learning, and this is true, not just in the early years of our education, but all the way through college. However, the teacher’s influence on students diminishes as they mature, but those early lessons still have an effect on how they will collaborate with others in the future.

Teachers are sources of knowledge. They have already been where the students go, they have met what they are going to go through and they are in a position to pass on lessons, not only about topics, but also lessons about life.

Anyone can become a teacher, but it takes a special person to become a great teacher. A great teacher is one who shows a quick and delicate appreciation of the feelings of his students. No teacher can be great without loving what he does. To excite and inspire a student requires passion and enthusiasm for the material itself.
