The main reason they invested this time was to help power their huge data banks of information. Generally, when companies invest this amount of money in a project, they expect to obtain monetary returns on their investment. Google is no exception. This is exactly why they have invested in the past.
They are most likely learning more about how this technology works and how beneficial it is for the environment. Google has always been known as a company that wants to do the right thing, and just because they want to see a more practical return on their investment this time around rather than a monetary one doesn’t mean this is an exception. However, this latest investment has raised many eyebrows.

All these paths continue to point to a bright future for Google. In this case, that bright future will be powered by wind power. And if they get their way, they’ll take everyone else too.
