The new book is unapologetic for its empowerment lessons

Davide Di Giorgio’s new book No Apologies: Empowering Yourself to Become an Influential Speaker and Visionary Leader is a celebration of all things “un”. First of all, celebrate not apologizing. That means living your life without apologizing for who you are, but being your full, bold, true, and unique self. Di Giorgio states from the beginning:

“At some point along the way, you were less encouraged to be who you are and more to conform to social norms and expectations. You were asked to be quiet, to act appropriately, and ultimately to dim your light so as not to stand out. .or be different.

“What a shame. The truth is that you are different, and the more you can accept and celebrate that in your difference exists your truth, your purpose, your message and your miracle, the more you will be able to live your truth and miracle in abundance.”

Each page that follows is about living your own truth unapologetically. Di Giorgio fills the pages with stories of how he learned to do it, including accepting that he is gay, not being afraid to pursue his dreams, and teaching others how to do the same. Through successes and failures, from being a yoga instructor to losing a business, and from inspiring young musicians to sharing what he learned when his house caught fire, Di Giorgio shares his inspiring stories of how he learned to live unapologetically and how we can do it too.

But being unapologetic is not the only “downside” in this book. Di Giorgio has divided the book into a series of chapters including Discovering the truth, Accepting yourself, Doing your best, Telling your truth, and Being unforgettable.

And you guessed it, unforgettable is another of his “des” words. In fact, each chapter ends with a “standout” essay by an “unapologetic influencer,” that is, someone who has succeeded in business and life by being fully himself without apology. Each of these sections also focuses on what it means to be another kind of “one.” For example, Christine Rosa talks about what it means to be “uninterrupted”: “When you accept that you are uninterrupted, you realize that there is nothing to fix. Then you let go of the sense of urgency to be someone else. If you want to be Unwavering, don’t waste your energy on being someone other than who you are now. Instead, gain the courage to sit with the version of yourself right now. Honor this version of yourself by witnessing it. ” Other unapologetic influencers discuss what it means to be unorthodox, unstoppable, unshakable, unleashed, unshakable, etc. These additional ideas are like the icing on the ice cream to Di Giorgio’s own stories to provide information and inspiration.

One of my favorite aspects of Being Unapologetic is that Di Giorgio wants us to celebrate who we are and find things every day to celebrate. In fact, he encourages us to set a timer to go off five to ten times a day to pause and celebrate. I love this idea because it shows how little Di Giorgio apologizes for who he is and the life he loves to celebrate. He is someone who always goes “with everything”, and even dedicates an entire chapter to the subject. Here are some excerpts from that chapter:

“Doing your best has some beautiful side effects. Not only will you advance toward your dreams, goals, and vision, but you will also enroll other people in who you are. They will see you as a leader, a pioneer … even a visionary. People want to be led by visionaries who are inspiring and show others what it means to be a leader …

“Even Jesus went out of his way, which I think is the biggest contributor to the longevity and impact of his story. As I like to joke, 2000 years later, he’s still a bestseller! …

“It would be a lie for me to say that going all-out solved the problem of fear. In fact, I will go so far as to say that you should never try to eliminate all fear. Instead, fear is something to be embraced, negotiated, and danced with. “

How do you learn to go with everything? Start by not apologizing. Start by taking a leap of faith and going out and showing the world who you are. People who do that become leaders, and Di Giorgio is full of leadership advice. He devotes chapters to tips on how to become a leader, including how to become an effective public speaker, how to build your brand, and, most surprising of all, why you shouldn’t focus on “delivering value” as so many business gurus proclaim. today and what you should focus on instead.

It also gives us permission to be “a little boring.” Many people think that being an expert, being smart, or being successful means teaching people what you know, but they forget that we need to entertain as well as educate, so Di Giorgio is in favor of us being “a little boring.” and teaches us to be.

Ultimately, Di Giorgio shows us that we can all live a full life if we don’t apologize for who we are. When we feel comfortable with who we are and show our true selves to the world, we become true leaders-leaders with vision. Di Giorgio explains:

“Leading with vision is not about stating what you believe and expecting followers. Leading with vision is about believing so strongly in something that you are willing to present it in such a way that your audience members ultimately choose to believe it, not because you have told them. that they do it, but because they have been given the option to do so.

“Leading with vision is a powerful tool. Understanding that leading with vision actually means that you are leading with who you are, rather than a personal agenda, is even more powerful.”

I encourage you to read No Apologies so that you can take the initiative in your own life. It’s time to celebrate who you are and share your gifts with a world in dire need of them. Join the world of those who have learned to live unapologetically and never look back. You know you want to.
