Why face placement will work for you

In the January 2011 issue of Golf Digest, tour player and golf analyst Gary McCord endorses the Front Putt as a superior form of putting. He even mentions that Dave Pelz rated that putt very highly.

Face-On(tm) Putting was introduced in 2006 by noted sports psychologist Dr. David Cook in his popular book “Golf’s Sacred Journey”.

Thousands of golfers have already switched to Face-On(tm) putting and the number is growing every day.

Filming on a movie based on “Golf’s Sacred Journey” was recently completed. The film stars Robert Duval and includes cameos from Stewart Cink, Lucas Glover, Rickie Fowler, and KJ Choi.

When the film is released in the spring of 2011, exposure to Face-On(tm) putting is expected to spur explosive growth in this new putting technique.

The Face-On(tm) putt offers golfers seven key benefits:
1) The golfer stands to the side of the ball and faces the hole/target line. The golfer’s binocular vision provides better alignment and distance assessment than the traditional side putt.
2) The putting stroke is mechanically simple with few moving body parts. This allows for a repetitive hit that will withstand the pressure of the competition.
3) Uses a natural underhand stroke motion much like throwing horseshoes, pennies, or a softball.
4) Promotes a simple, repetitive back and forth stroke for greater precision.
5) Long putter length provides a smooth tempo that promotes consistency.
6) The golfer quickly learns to control distance by varying the length of the putt.
7) The relatively upright stance used allows the golfer to spend extended practice time without back strain.

A putter that has been optimized for Face-On(tm) putting will have the following characteristics.
1) Length from 44 to 54 inches depending on the height of the golfer.
2) Angle of lie as vertical as the USGA allows, 10 degrees.
3) Balanced face with high MOI.
4) Clear lines of sight framing the golf ball; no balls or other distracting geometric shapes
5) Zero Loft to eliminate directional error caused by keeping the axis vertical with a ten degree tilt angle.
6) Adjustable weight for different playing conditions.
7) Vertical front grooves for a smooth feel and excellent roll.

The Face-On Putting style is helping golfers of all levels. It’s especially useful for golfers who struggle with those pesky 3-, 4-, and 5-foot putts.
