A bold new look for the 2010 Ford Taurus

The Taurus is one of the oldest models still in production today; Taurus has been produced for almost twenty years. For 2010 Ford has completely revised and redesigned this classic and the result is a much fresher, more luxurious and attractive car. The new model has a new grille, new headlights and beautiful lines. There are four models available, SE, SEL, Limited and SHO. The Taurus will compete in the full-size sedan niche with popular cars like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The starting price is around $26k.

All Taurus models, except the SHO model, use a 3.5L V6 engine and generate 263 HP with 249 pound-feet of torque. The new Taurus SHO model features a 3.5-liter V6 engine and can go from zero to sixty in just 6 seconds. Gas mileage for the SHO model is 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

It’s inside that the Taurus excels due to Ford’s innovative engineering and design; controls are well placed and easy to use, plus there’s plenty of room. The contoured seats are extremely comfortable and offer excellent lumbar support and actually help the driver with tiredness and fatigue. The controls are illuminated by cool blue light and there’s also colored ambient lighting instead. One area where the Taurus shines is its cargo space; there’s over 20 cubic feet of trunk space to store all your items.

There are plenty of nifty features available, like an available advanced navigation system that gives you turn-by-turn directions. A keyless entry keypad allows you to open the doors without using a key—just touch the keypad and it lights up. Now you will no longer be able to stay out of your car! An innovative rear view camera is available with the SHO model, allowing you to see what’s behind you on the navigation screen or in the rear view mirror. Microsoft’s SYNC system enables super-simple compatibility with most MP3 players and Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones for hands-free calling.

Taurus was designed with safety in mind with the inclusion of anti-lock brakes, front-impact airbags, side-impact airbags, rain-sensing windshield wipers, adaptive cruise control, traction and yaw control, an information system blind spot indicator that lets you know when another vehicle is driving in your blind spot. It has a tire pressure monitoring system that alerts you when your tires need to be checked and a security system that prevents the car from starting if the original key is not used.

The new Taurus looks nothing like its predecessor, this car is modern, has been updated and looks sleeker than ever. Starting cost for the 2010 model is around $25k and may vary depending on trims and options selected. Don’t overlook the 2010 Taurus, even if you’re not a fan of the older models. This new car might surprise you!
