Why did Jesus Christ come into the world?

Why would Jesus leave the comfort of heaven, where God was, and come to earth, where he would be mocked and killed? When this question is answered, you will be able to appreciate God’s love for humanity. And understanding the answer will help you hold onto your salvation in Christ. So, in this article, we will see why Jesus came to earth.

Jesus came to this world to:

1. Show God’s love

One of the main reasons why Jesus came to this world was because God showed us his love. So while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Because he gave his Son Jesus so that everyone who believes in Christ may not perish, but may have eternal life.

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but have eternal life.

– John 3:16 (NKJV).

The state of fallen man, full of shame and reproach, did not please God. Because it was contrary to what was intended for man. Because his plan was for man to subdue the earth and rule over everything he had created. Unfortunately, when Adam disobeyed God and ate the forbidden fruit, this plan was thwarted. And the devil took the original place of man on earth, subduing and dominating the earth.

However, the Lord’s love for man would not allow him to leave man in a state of defeat. And that is why he sent Jesus to restore man to his original state of authority. However, man can only receive this when he reconnects with God through Jesus Christ.

2. Do God’s will and fulfill the Old Testament

Throughout the Old Testament, prophets prophesied about the coming of Christ: His birth, why He was coming, and what will be done to Him. And all this was the will of the Father, of which he spoke through the prophets. Therefore, Jesus came to fulfill the law and in the process to do the will of his Father.

So I said, ‘Behold, I have come. In the volume of the book it is written about me. To do your will, oh God. ‘

– Hebrews 10: 7 NKJV).

Now, it’s worth noting that if some of what the prophets said about Jesus happened, then what’s left will happen too. And that includes the second coming of Christ.

3. Spill His Precious Blood

According to the law, without the shedding of blood, there will be no remission of sin. So to forgive our sins, blood must be shed. However, the blood of the animals could not do it. Rather, the sacrifices were annual reminders of their sins. But God wanted to totally cancel the accusations of sin against man. So, the blood of Christ had to be shed as a permanent solution for the remission of sin. And he did it once and for all, never to go through it again. So, by this one sacrifice, we are justified and saved from the wrath of God.

4. Die on the cross

Death on the cross was God’s plan for Christ. This is because everyone who hangs on the cross is cursed. And Christ needed to redeem the world from all the curses of the law. So Christ took our place on the cross, and all the curses that were supposed to be ours came upon Him. And when He died and rose again, He redeemed us from all of them. As such, anyone who receives Christ receives redemption from all the curses and blessings of Abraham.

Furthermore, Christ nailed to the cross all the writing of the ordinances against us (which were contrary to us). So, all the lawsuits that were legally in force but were hostile to us, Christ took them out of the way and nailed them to the cross. Therefore, do not allow any doctrine contrary to the word of God to lock you up. Although these practices have a form of wisdom, they do not honor God.

5. Call sinners to repentance

The scripture says that the wages of sin is death. So in order for you to be free from this impending penalty of sin, you need to repent of your sins. And this is what Jesus came to do; to call sinners to repentance so they may have eternal life.

I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.

– Luke 5:32 (NKJV).

6. Save the world

The world is in total darkness. And like the light, Christ came to save the world from this deep darkness. So that whoever believes in him does not continue to live in darkness. Because you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. For example, when you know the truth that by the stripes of Jesus you were healed, the disease will leave you. This is because you will resist the disease and it will flee from you.

7. Give life in abundance

Furthermore, Christ came to give us life and to give it to us in abundance. Whereas, the devil came to steal. kill and destroy. Therefore, anything other than life in abundance is not God’s will for you. So, Christ came to give you, among other things, total health, success and prosperity, etc., all in abundance.

8. Carry out the good news of salvation

Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, came to preach the gospel, to heal the brokenhearted. Furthermore, he came to free the captives, give sight to the blind, and set those oppressed by the enemy free. Therefore, he came to make sure that you are totally saved from the bondage of the enemy. This includes both spiritual and physical slavery. And this salvation will perfect in you as you receive His gospel.

conclusion

Jesus did not enter this world for the fun of being a human being. Rather, he came on a mission, which he fulfilled to the last letter. Also, He did not come to play, so we should not play with the finished work of Christ. So receive Christ, His Word, and be perfectly healthy.
