10 ways to make your day THE PERFECT DAY without spending a fortune

For the bride and groom, the wedding day is the beginning of a new life together, but the day itself is also an important event. Every little detail of the day must be special so that when we remember the day all the memories are perfect!

From the moment the wedding date is chosen to the actual day of the wedding, more energy and effort goes into a single day than most people go into choosing a home. Our families, friends and co-workers get involved in the preparations and festivities.

On your wedding day, there are many small details that can add an element of luxury and glamor without breaking the bank. All it takes is a little imagination, a little legwork, and a little effort. Try doing any of the following to add some pizzazz to your Perfect Day! Enlist your friends to help you put some of these together ahead of time before last-minute details require your attention.

  1. Add a basket of “necessities” to the vanity, so guests won’t be embarrassed or upset by a mishap. Include a pair of pantyhose, some hairspray, mints, gum, mouthwash, tissues, clear nail polish to repair the pantyhose, panty liners/tampons, hair clips, elastics, a small kit of sewing, a manicure kit or nail file and clippers, tweezers, hand cream, antacid, headache remedy (make sure it is in a child-resistant container if there are children at your event), and anything else that you can think of that can prevent any minor catastrophe. Most of the items can be purchased at the dollar store so the cost would be very low, and when placed in a couple of cute baskets in the ladies room, it would show your guests how important it is to them. have a perfect day at your wedding. .
  2. Instead of a guest book, have business-size decorative cards or shaped cards at your registration table for guests to leave words of advice or wisdom, or to express their well wishes. Provide a nice basket, large glass fishbowl, or small cage to place the missives once they are written.
  3. Make simple centerpieces with glass globes or cylinders filled with colored water and stones. Have the water level just above the level of the stones so that metal teapots can rest just above the water line. Sprinkle a few silk rose petals or crystal shards around the base of the centerpieces, or place the glass containers on mirror tiles to further reflect the candlelight.
  4. Add some glam to plain white tablecloths by placing simple squares of satin or organza in the center of your table. If you have chair sashes, order or rent enough extra sashes to use one as a table runner or order two per table and crisscross.
  5. Run a line of small glass fish tanks or dollar store square glass containers along your head table with a tea light in each. Wrap ribbon in your wedding colors around each one, secure with some fabric glue, and accent with silver metal charms or tiny silk flowers.
  6. Cover less attractive pillars with a tube of stretch fabric in your wedding colors, or white accented with ribbons in your colors, to hold flower arrangements at either end of your head table or gift/cake tables.
  7. Borrow mini white Christmas lights from friends and family and hang them from the skirting board of your table, then top them with organza swags for a Cinderella effect on your head table.
  8. For a simple cake table, cover a round table with a tablecloth that is slightly longer. Pull the bottom of the tablecloth off the base of the table and secure it to the floor with small pieces of double-sided tape to make it flare, then place a ring of flower petals or ivy around it for decoration.
  9. To embellish simple tableware, place a colored paper napkin in the center of the plate, place a small paper napkin on top, and then place your favor on top of the napkin.
  10. For inexpensive guest favors, look for glass coasters at dollar stores, fill them with mints or colored candies, and wrap them with a circle of tulle tied with a sparkly ribbon. Or use small shot glasses with clear plastic bases.

Special does not necessarily mean expensive. Look for inexpensive ways to duplicate the effects of high-end decor. Knowing that you’re on budget will allow you to enjoy your day more fully, but taking a little time up front to focus on adding a few details can add that special touch to your Perfect Day.
