Why should you choose a comfort height toilet?

Have you ever wondered what the term means? comfort height bath? (I know, weird topic). When I worked at Home Depot as a kitchen and bath designer, I often helped customers in the plumbing aisles. One thing I would always suggest when a client was looking to purchase a new toilet, or water closet as it is called in the architecture industry, was to consider purchasing a comfort height bath.

ON comfort height toilet is one that is slightly higher than a normal toilet. (An average residential toilet is between 14″ and 16″ tall.) the height of a comfort height The seat can be found anywhere between 17″ and 19″ tall. The best seat height is 18″, but if you find a toilet that you really like about its features, like it will never clog or is a low flow toilet, then I would choose a height as close to 18″ as possible.

So why do the Comfort choice? Because it is much easier to go up and down. You don’t have to have limited mobility to appreciate the higher seat, either. It is easier on the legs while sitting if the seat is in the highest range. Of course, if possible, the size of the person using the bathroom should be considered: if Aunt Mable is 4′-10″, the Comfort-Height it probably wouldn’t provide comfort. Accessible limitations should also be considered.

Another good option when choosing a new toilet is to choose the elongated bowl because it adapts to the shape of the human body more naturally than the round seat. The round bowl is reminiscent of outbuildings. So with those thoughts in mind, if you’re remodeling your bathroom, consider your wide selection of toilets and consider those that use or will use the toilet. It’s easier to plan ahead and make some comfort decisions now rather than later. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Take care of yourself.
