You’re never too old to get fit/lose weight or start an exercise routine

These days, more and more people who have struggled with weight loss are turning their lives around and becoming healthier and more physically fit. There are also many more people who want to start exercising in some way, but don’t know how.

There are many people who will feel that they are too old to start researching fitness and health or go to the gym and lift weights or simply feel that there is no hope for them as they have had a weight problem their whole life.

This is a mental barrier. In previous articles I have mentioned the importance of routine and the effect of a routine or habit becoming more solid and ingrained the longer it is followed or allowed to continue. These habits or routines can be good or bad.

If you find yourself in the situation, maybe you are over 50 or even over 60 and would like to lose a little (or a lot) of weight or start a fitness program and you feel that you are too old to do so, the first thing you need What to do is realize that you are wrong!

If this applies to you, you need to understand that in order to get results with a weight loss or fitness program, you need a couple of things in mindset.

First of all, you must realize that it is never too late. If you do the right things for 15 to 20 weeks, you will lose a substantial amount of weight and become much fitter. I’m sure you’ll agree that in the grand scheme of things, 15-20 weeks is not a long time.

Getting it?

Once you understand that you can be at the weight and fitness level you’d like, you can consider educating yourself. It’s all very well to look at the countless diet plans and fitness methods out there today, all claiming to be your best bet.

This is very confusing for people who are new to this game and due to the sheer volume of these products, many people will go from one idea to the next as these ideas come up and never see a single diet or training program through to the end. there is always something that looks better or promises to give better results

This leads to little or no results and further supports your belief that it’s too late for you.

The best thing you can do here is stick to a theory. If you personally know someone who has had great results, the kind of results you want, you should educate yourself on this theory and stick with it until you get results. For example:

You know someone who has lost a lot of weight on a low-fat, low-sugar, calorie-controlled diet, and three weeks later you hear from someone who has had similar results on a fasted diet. Don’t switch to this diet if you haven’t given the first 8 to 10 solid weeks.
The advantages of lifting weights.

Many people who haven’t followed a physical training program before think that weightlifting is for the World’s Strongest Man contest or big bodybuilders who are obsessed with packing on massive amounts of muscle.

Weightlifting is for everyone, including those over 60. There are a host of benefits to be gained from this type of activity, including:

muscular strength

improve your balance

Improve your coordination

improve your mobility

Helps reduce the signs of arthritis.

This is another topic, but it is important to know that the amount of muscle mass you have is very valuable, you need to maintain what you have as the benefits are many!

This doesn’t mean you have to look like the Hulk. Many people have an aversion to resistance training because they don’t want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger. This will not happen. As soon as you start weight training, you will realize how difficult it is to build muscle this way.

The most important points of this article are:

Find a plan and stick to it

Once you have a sensible fitness plan, “STOP LOOKING” and stick with it! Research health by all means, but I can’t stress this point enough! I have learned this the hard way. You don’t get fitness results if you don’t stick to your plan.

Break down those mental barriers to reach your physical potential.

There is a bigger mental barrier to the weight loss/fitness game than most people realize. More than likely this is holding you back. Once you decide that you will take responsibility and do whatever it takes to get your results, you have taken your first step.

Just don’t let anyone else tell you you can’t or make you feel like you can’t because YOU CAN!

Make your decision, plan your trip and go your way, if you stay on your way you will reach your destination!

I hope this has given you some ideas and helped you even a little bit.
