Natural cures for head lice – Home remedies for head lice

Lice are small insects that do not have wings. They suck the blood of animals and humans while living on them. Head lice are also commonly known as pediculosis. Mainly there are three types of competition. They are body lice, head lice, and pubic lice. It bites into the skin of humans and causes extreme itching. Sometimes due to itching many people also get some skin infection.

Lice are spread by body-to-body contact, due to sexual intercourse, sharing personal items such as combs, clothing, helmets, hats, and also brushes. Its color varies from gray to brown. Adult lice are about the size of sesame seeds.

Different lice have different symptoms –

1. Head Lice – Itchy scalp, due to scratching, sores occur on the scalp which may be infected, small grayish-white eggs that attach to the hairs near the scalp, one-eighth-sized insects inch long and that are grayish or brown are found behind the nape of the neck and also behind the ears.

2. Body lice – Due to bites on the buttocks, shoulders and other parts of the body, red bumps occur and eggs are visible on clothing.

3. Pubic lice – itching occurs in the genital region, in the crotch area there are small crab-like insects, at the base of the pubic hair eggs are attached, and on the underwear there are small dark spots.

Some of the natural cures to get rid of head lice are:

1. If you don’t have mayonnaise, you can apply Vaseline overnight. But with mayonnaise it is not safe since without refrigeration it becomes poisonous. Children after scratching their heads can put their fingers in their mouths. You can also prepare natural lice shampoo to kill lice. For this purpose, you can take five teaspoons of pure olive/coconut carrier oil and then add five drops of tea tree essential oil, five drops of lavender essential oil, five drops of rosemary essential oil, five drops of essential oil of mint and also five drops of eucalyptus essential oil. To this mixture add a small amount of shampoo. Apply this mixture on your head and it is very effective.

2. Rinse your hair and scalp with vinegar after shampooing, then rinse with hot water.

3. Comb your hair with a nit comb after first combing it with a normal comb. It is readily available at any pharmacy where lice shampoos are also available.
