Xbox Kinect: Microsoft’s big launch

Microsoft’s new product, Xbox Kinect, which was previously called “Project Natal”, is a great new development that has brought a whole new level of video gaming to avid gaming fans. This gaming system is powered by a unique and innovative 3D camera produced by Microsoft coupled with gesture recognition software that has the ability to transport game enthusiasts into a modern gaming world. Your device can mimic physical movements in real life and transport them directly into the world of games. The device has sensors that can detect and convey even slight movements such as those of the eyes and fingers. All these details were presented to the world at the E3 Conference in Los Angeles where the product was launched.

This Microsoft product was presented with great extravagance by customizing the services of Cirque du Soleil, a well-known circus group. The event was held on June 13, 2010 and was attended by various celebrities and VIPs. The group’s performance lasted only 45 minutes, but it took several months of organization, planning, and practice. 76 acrobats, musicians, clowns and dancers participated in the program. Other highlights of the event included a massive projection screen that spanned the length of a football field and an Xbox logo as large as 40 feet.

The event took place at the Galen Center where an artificial jungle was made in one part. Here, hypnotic drumbeats were kicked off and guests were shown exhibits with some high-tech living rooms. Additionally, an Xbox Kinect-inspired puppet show was on display.

The device was released at the same time as Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii, both of which were phenomenally successful. However, Xbox Kinect was great news for those gamers who were satisfied with the number of games supported by the device.
